We're going to Disneyland!

It's true folks. Our plane tickets are paid for, and the first week of September, Lauren and I are flying out west. It is the first trip to Disneyland for both of us. This is my farthest trip out west ever. On top of that, its my first time on an airplane in the last 5 years. The fact that I started watching LOST and it is one of my favorite shows of all time, doesn't help my recent "fear" of flying. Well, I'm not really scared of flying at all. In fact, I enjoy flying and the brief detachment from the planet Earth. It's the crashing I am afraid of. Putting that out of my mind, I really can't wait for this trip!
I've been going to WDW since I was a wee kid, so the opportunity to go to the place that started it all is going to be an amazing experience. We are going as complete ignorant tourists, without any major kind of spoiler knowledge at all. I've seen videos years ago, before the realization of an actual trip has been made, but can't really remember any specific details. We do know we will get there in time to ride The Haunted Mansion and Space Mountain before they go down for refurb. And that is a big relief. I was afraid we were going to miss Haunted Mansion because of the Nightmare Before Christmas overlay, I had no idea Space Mountain was going down as well.
We are also going to be there in time for the D23 expo. As of this time, neither myself, or Lauren are members of D23, but I'd be curious to see what all the fuss is about. And so would Magic City Mayhem cameras for that matter.
But the major reason of our visit out west...it is going to be Laurens birthday!! On the day of, she will be getting her princess make over at the Bibbiddi Bobbiddi Boutique(sp?) bright and early at 10am, spend the day in the parks, then probably have a night out the town in LA.
I'm going to really try to keep updating the blog as we get closer and closer to the trip. You can also follow me on twitter @justmikeyhrc. Hope everyone is being safe.
See ya in the parks!

February! Wooo!

Well, I don't think I have any actual "followers" yet, so I am just writing these for myself. Kind of like a reminder that I have goals and realization of some of my achievements. So,with that said...let me ramble further.
January was awesome! I started a weekly routine of going to the parks, with great assistance from my terrific girlfriend, Lauren. And also have been updating the weekly "vidcast" On Location consistently for the last 7 weeks! I watched the first couple of episodes yesterday and really noticed it changing and developing into something I didnt start with, and I personally think thats awesome! The change comes from feed back I get from viewers, and personal descisions I make myself. All in all, I said it from the beggining, much like the Disney parks, I'd like for my show, and what I do, to be constantly changing, and evolving. And if you stumble upon this blog and you are one of the few who watch my silly show every week, THANK YOU. Its fun and I enjoy doing it. And that ladies and gentleman, I believe is good enough reason to do anything!

Questions, comments, or anything? Email me! justmikeyhrc@gmail.com

Be sure to catch episode 7, it is quite epic. And part 2 of the Muppet queue will be coming soon!

See ya real soon!

We are now on iTunes!

Well, the inevitable has finally happened. I have submitted Magic City Mayhem to iTunes, to become a proper "podcast". And that opens up a world of possibilities to us. Youtube doesn't allow any of its videos to be over 100mb or 10mins in length. So not only does time constrict longer videos, but the size of the file hinders us as well. The quality of many of our videos are lessened when we upload to Youtube. Itunes will allow us to keep our videos at high quality which will enhance the overall experience for you, the viewer.
We will keep up with the weekly series, "On Location", on Youtube, as well as iTunes, but we will also be introducing new shows as well specifically for iTunes. The first of such series will be called, "Complete Coverage". This video series will focus on rides and shows from start to finish. Including queue lines, hidden Mickeys, and another other "special" secrets pertaining to such said attraction. The first episode of "Complete Coverage", will focus on the Kilimanjaro's Safaris at Disneys' Animal Kingdom, and will be released very soon.
There will be many new, "iTunes only" shows coming from Magic City Mayhem. And the only way to be hip to them all, will be to subscribe on BOTH, iTunes and Youtube. Also, you can follow Mikey the Errand boy on Twitter! www.twitter.com/justmikeyhrc
If you have any video requests, please don't hesitate to email mikey @ justmikeyhrc@gmail.com
Look forward to hearing from you all, and have a magical day!
See you real soon!

An Introduction of Sorts

Well, I guess this is my first official "Blogspot" blog. I am going to use this opportunity to properly introduce myself. My name is Mikey. Well, originally Michael, but only my Mom calls me that. I will not answer to it , mind you. I just tuned 30 and I am not sure exactly how to deal with that yet. Apparently I do not look a day over 21 and I guess that has its advantages and disadvantages. And admitedly, most of the time, I do not act my age either.

I grew up in Queens New York. For the first part, in the rough tough Jamaica. Then my teen years were spent in the sunny suburbs of Bayside. My parents got a divorce when I was about 7 or 8. And my "birth" mom has been out of the picture ever since. My Dad re-married when I was 9, and the woman he married, Susan, I consider to be my "real" Mom, has raised me as her own.

I've attended 4 different colleges since I graduated from High School in 1996. All art related programs, and some schools I did not leave by choice. Let's just say, all of my "deviant" scholastic escapades would take hours of typing, and I will save such stories for future blogs.

Walt Disney World has been very much a constant through out my entire life, and will probably be the primary focus of this blog. I have been going on a very regular basis since 1985. And now I have the significant advantage of living minutes from the magic and I have a annual pass! I run a YouTube channel featuring all things theme parks in Central Fl, with the heaviest attention being paid to the Mouse. I am going to take advantage of this forum, to not only let my readers in on who I am. But to let them in on things going on here in Central Fl, home of everyones' favorite vacation destination.

So come back often and Ill share stories of how I would drive my parents and teachers crazy. And also plenty of Disney related stories! Below is a video of the original introduction to my YouTube show, "OnLocation". Which can be viewed by subscribing at http://www.youtube.com/magiccitymayhem . Hope all is well in your world, and if not, come escape in to mine! See you real soon!
