"We're very close to the end, Hugo"

I can't even begin to describe the excitement I feel right now. In less than a week we will be closing on our new house. In about two weeks we will be all moved in. In about 4 weeks, everything should be unpacked and fully operational.

Nacho will be allowed to roam free again. I will be able to stay up late and paint and edit video. Lauren will be able to keep up with all her latest TV programming thanks to HD DVR service. It will be just like old times again. Trust me. When we had such things before, I did not take them for granted. And now that they are in such close grasp once again, I am counting the seconds.

We will be closer to work once again, and this time, SeaWorld will be the closest theme park to our house. At mom's, Disney is the closest, and where Lauren and I lived before, obviously Universal was around the corner. But even so, we will only be less than 15 minutes away with traffic. Big convenience!

I have been drawing pretty much my entire life, and I actually do have some "real" artistic training under my belt. I'd really like to start getting my stuff out there in a freelance capacity somehow. In the new place, Im going to have a designated studio area where I will be able to work and create different pieces of artwork on a very wide spectrum. Of course I will be doing custom Vinylmation, so if you want a one of a kind gift for someone...details forthcoming. Also, I'd like to start working on other large scale painting or other kind of renderings. I need to build my portfolio back up if I have any hopes of maybe getting a "real" job someday. The portfolio I have now is pretty dated. By 1996's standards I guess it holds up, but I'd like to think I have grown as an artist since then.

Since we are first time homeowners, Im sure the next few weeks will bring forth many new challenges and obstacles for Lauren and I. And what better way to seek advice and entertain others from our mis-fortune, than updating this blog more often. Yeah yeah yeah. I say that all the time. Well, I gotta keep hope alive...

Have a very happy holiday, and in case I don't update before then, HAVE A SAFE, HEALTHY, and HAPPY New Year!!!

Kiss your momma!

Here we go.

Howard Stern has always kind of been a hero of mine. I grew up in NYC in the 80's and I remember hearing him in the afternoon on the ride home from school. He is a New York native, as am I. He was a minority in high school, as was I. Both of us seem to like to speak before thinking about consequences to what we say.

I can't speak for Howard, but in my defense, I blame my sharp tongue, quick wit, and sarcasm on a self defense mechanism I have instilled in myself. I was never much of a physical presence, so I had to use some other way to gain popularity, and in times, use it to get me out of trouble. I was always the class clown. The funniest in the group. But also, trouble maker, but manages to usually stay out of trouble.

I don't exactly know how to characterize myself in this crazy thing we call the online Disney community.

Webmaster?
Blogger?
Vlogger?
Podcaster?

In the last 2-3 years, you guys have come to know the older, mature, "calmed down" side of me. But part of me wants to make people gasp, and ask each other,
"Did he just say that?".
Or
"Did he just do what I think he just did?".
Or
"I wonder what he's going to do next!".

The language will remain clean, and vulgarity will NEVER be shown or spoken of, I promise. Maybe some good old fashion, prime time television innuendo, but nothing that wouldn't be rated any worse than a PG.

Why am I telling you guys all this? No reason. Just know, I don't want to offend everyone. Just one or two people.

This is gonna be fun.

Kiss your momma.

Mikey

P.S. What do you truly think about the podcast. Take away anything? Add anything? Please be explicitly honest! Thanks!

Something new

I know, I know. A month in between posts.
Who do I think I am?
Sorry.
Just wanted to update the 7 of my loyal readers as to what's going on. Looks like we should be in our new place by the end of the year. Until then, we are still transmitting from a Magic City Mayhem sub-station. Everything should start coming out on a more frequent basis once our move is made.
As all of you know, I am a Vinylmation fanatic. I am a collector. An artist. A fan of the entire brand and concept behind the idea. I decided to take this and turn it in to something.
Everyone's got one.
Magic City Mayhem's Spin On Vinyl is born.
A podcast entirely dedicated to the world of Vinylmation. I released a pilot episode, and that can be heard here. We are awaiting iTunes approval. And when that happens, look for episodes on a WDW Today type scale, with 2-3 episodes a week. They shouldn't be more than 20-30 mins long either.
That's pretty much it. Hope the weather isn't affecting anyone too badly yet. Looking forward to the holidays!

Kiss your momma!

A re-birth

My life starts today.

Again.

What's next? Something. And that is the good news.

Stay tuned believers. Wish I had more news, but living situation is still the same. Everything is in a box, but as always, I'm thinking out side of it.

I promise to try and blog more. But right now... I'm going to watch a couple of episodes of my favorite show of all time...

Disney in the AM. Tradition.

Kiss your momma!

Im a slacker...

...when it comes to keeping up with the blogs. I think I may want to become the "Howard Stern" of this community. Still not moved in to the new digs. But when that happens...

Pandora Radio has changed me

I now listen to Kanye West. Officially.

But in other news...

We now have a new closing date on our house. And as of right now, August 1st, Lauren and I will never have another roommate again! I've had my share. Some weirdos, and some really cool ones. But nothing compares to not having to worry if someone is using your stuff, not locking the door, being loud, smelling, being drunk, stealing, eating your food, not paying bills on time, leaving electric running, having someone living with them and not kicking in on bills, having shady people over, asking weird favors, and many other things I don't plan on listing here currently.

Goodbye to all that!

Admiral Duke is coming. This should be good! New projects will spawn from this meeting for sure!

I may not be "just a server" for long. I have an opportunity to take something I have been doing as a hobby, and expand it to something I may be able to do for a living. Stay tuned. Can't talk much about this matter, but it sure is exciting!

Videos will be coming soon!

You guys are awesome for taking the time to read this!

Be safe and, and give your momma a kiss...

Restraint

I don't know how much longer i can hold out. Every day, I have an urge to blog about the "do's" and "don'ts" of dining out.

How to talk to and treat the staff of a restaurant.

How to read a menu.

How to properly "take care of" your server.

These are just to name a few of the possible subjects. I really don't want to rant and rave about this issue, but people are just pushing me to do so.

I will say this, just to educate...

Treat others how you want to be treated, and keep this in mind...Most servers make less than minimum wage per hour from their employer. This means, after taxes and such are taken out, the server does NOT get any kind of paycheck week to week. They depend on your tips! In most establishments, servers have to kick out a percentage of their sales to other people in the restaurant(Bussers, Bartenders, Hosts), which means, if you don't tip them, they have to pay to take care of you.

Ok, that is all. Not ranting anymore. Can't wait until we move. Can't wait to create and all that. Yadda yadda yadda...

If you think anyone you know would enjoy reading this, feel free to pass it along.

Be safe.

Going crazy

I miss creating. But the summer crowds are keeping us busy. There will be plenty of time to create in September.
September is THE slowest month of the year for the central Florida economy. It is the best time to cash in all those un-used vacation days.
Last year, we took our first trip to California and Disneyland. This year we will be dedicated to renovating and settling in to our new digs.
An even exchange in my opinion.

BUT...

I haven't been able to get to the parks to shoot video.
&
All my paints and blank Vinylmation are packed up. Also, are all of my sketchbooks.

I have started doing a "random Vinylmation photo of the day", on Twitter. This is helping me get my creative juices flowing, on a small scale. So to speak.

Any way, thanks to all 6 of you guys who read this. Especially with how infrequently I post. But now is the time, now is the best time. Now is the best time to work!!! Thank goodness for this blog and Vinylmation, otherwise, I'd be going INSANE!!!!

Keep it positive and put a little bit of L-O-V-E in everything you do!

Later friends!

Getting antsy

Can't wait to make more Vinylmation.

Can't wait to get back to the parks.

Can't wait to make new videos.

Can't wait for Halloween time.

Can't wait to move in to our new house.

Can't wait for everyone to know the difference between to, two, and too.

Can't wait for our first house guest to come. It feels like I've known him longer than just 15 months!

Can't wait to start broadcasting our radio show!

Can't wait for the new Fantasyland!

Can't wait for the new Star Tours!

Can't wait for Star Wars Vinylmation!!!!

Can't wait for Weird Al at Hard Rock on July 21st!

This is why I can't sleep.

Because I can't wait.

Be safe. Be productive. Be Magic.

Magic City Mayhem is closed for refurb

It took longer than anticipated, but it is finally done. I had to wait until I got all my Captain EO footage up, but MCM.com is closed, and nothing new will be posted to YouTube for awhile. We are changing offices and we need time to break down the old and set up the new digs so your patience is appreciated.

We arent going completely dark. You cant still interact via Facebook, and Twitter. But for the most part, the main site is closed. There is no exact date yet of when it will be re-opened. Until further notice, if any videos need to be posted, they will be either on MCM's Facebook page, or Justmikeyhrc's YouTube channel.

Hope everyone is having a great summer! Will have updates regarding our move soon!

Buzz Kill

I was all ready to write a quick review and comparison of my new phone to old phone, but, something happened.

Somebody I have been following on Twitter for almost a year now, has been going through a very trying situation. His younger brother has been suffering, from what I gather to be, terminal cancer. I'm not exactly sure of the young mans age, but I know he is high school age.

The person I follow on Twitter is a very religious person, and calls upon his faith to bring strength for himself and family at this time. I am not a very religious person, but I understand where he is coming from. At times like this, where you can no longer get help from a "physical being", you have to search elsewhere for answers and help.

I lost my dad to cancer, and I can't even imagine losing my younger sister to the same disease. After reading through his recent Tweets, it appears that the young man may not be with us too much longer. Clergy have been in and out of the hospital room, saying prayers for the boy. My friend is spending the night with him sleeping in a chair beside his hospital bed.

Take today and truly appreciate the people around you. Put the iPhone, and laptop down for a second, turn off the HD Tv, and give your loved ones a good old fashioned squeeze. And when they ask, "what was that for?" You can tell them, "No reason, Mikey thought it to be a good idea".

Ill give you a review of the iPhones in the next couple of days.

Be well my friends.

Don't take anything for granted.

Ch ch ch changes...

Summer is really heating up! The Wizarding World of Harry Potter (WWoHP) has finally opened to the public. Videos I have posted on YouTube of the WWoHP have really spiked in the last 24 hours. This always brings MCM new subscribers, and followers and what not. This couldn't have happened at a worse time.

As you know, MCM is transitioning to new management. The look of things around the MCM website, Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter will all be changing slightly. Hopefully, all the new people just discovering us now will "get" everything going on, and stick around for the ride.

The only major thing coming up "theme park" wise, is the re-open of Captain EO at Epcot. I think after that, MCM will be going down for a short refurb. Our most popular time of year will be right around the corner. Halloween Horror Nights, and The International Food and Wine Festival.

Expect the new owners of MCM to come forward in the next couple weeks. They are great people! They expressed interest to keep me around for a while before I decide to branch off and do other things. This is really convenient seeing as how Lauren and I will be doing some moving mid-July. I won't have time to dedicate to my new projects until I am settled in to the new digs anyway.

I hope everyone is doing well! All five of you that are subscribed! You guys rock!

Blended reality?

Andy Kaufman has always been a hero of mine. He died when I was almost 6 years old. I can't recall seeing any of his antics "live", but growing up, I'd watch Taxi re-runs, and I remember seeing some of the whole wrestling thing on TV. Finally, five years after he "allegedly" died, a documentary was released.

"I'm From Hollywood"

The main premise of the movie was to show Andy during his "wrestling days". But a good chunk of the first ten minutes of the film showed glimpses in to the early days of his career. But in 1995 another documentary was released.

"A Comedy Salute to Andy Kaufman"

His peers recalled stories of his acts or times shared with the comedic genius. I was able to see more in to the man. His ability to make people second guess what they think is "real" or "part of the show" was always my favorite thing about him. And that was also his biggest tragedy.

"Man on the Moon"

Jim Carrey was flawless. He did more than an imitation. He became Andy Kaufman! It's been more than ten years since this movie has come out, and nothing new relating to Andy has been released. I hope someone out there will fascinate, captivate, and inspire others just like he did.

Andy was special.

I can be special.

Have a great week everyone! Be safe!

2 years on YouTube

Making videos as frequently as I do, milestones like 50th video, or 100th video aren't that impressive. I can post 3 or 4 videos to YouTube in a day depending on the story sometimes. Lots of podcasts like to celebrate their 100th episodes as a major accomplishment. Well, lets think about this...
If a podcast puts out one episode a week(give or take), then their 100th episode would come around the two year mark...
So this two year anniversary kind of like our 100th episode milestone celebration!

Woot!

As most of you who read this know(all 4 of you), I was making theme park vids before I had a channel specifically for it. Since the birth of MCM on YouTube, I have embraced everything that drives traffic to Orlando Florida. I want to show it off to everyone.

Walt Disney World.
Universal Orlando.
SeaWorld.
Busch Gardens.
The Orlando Magic.

These are some specific examples of videos you will find and continue to find on our channel. There will be some additions in the coming months. As the town expands. As my brain expands.

Thanks for reading

Memorial Day Weekend

This is a weekend where I think back as a kid growing up in NYC as the "kick off to summer".

The weather was getting warmer.

School was almost finished.

The air and everything around you almost smelled and visually appeared different somehow. Summer is a magical time. Sure, Spring is a time of re-birth, but Summer is when everything is vibrant, in full bloom, and reaching it's maximum potential.

I hope to squeeze lots of things in this Summer.

I hope to be vibrant.

If I reach my maximum potential, I hope I can maintain it for as long as I can.

*************************************************************************************

The recent posting about me "giving up" Magic City Mayhem, may have come off not in the way I intended it to. I have a ton of new projects in the works, and I basically needed to lighten the load. MCM will still provide videos of all things going on at WDW, UO, and SeaWorld, its future owner has assured me that! I will no longer be the "face" of MCM, or have anything to do with the production for that matter.

For reasons I have yet to be filled in on, the person that is taking over for me doesn't want me to release their identity. I don't know if the videos that will be posted will all be taken from a third person viewpoint, or if there will be a "new face" for MCM. These are all things we are going to find out together. One thing I know for sure, everything will be in place for me to step back, on or around June 19th.

I hope this kind of cleared things up. I'll keep this blog going for as long as I can, and try to keep it interesting. And I will try to make postings more frequent.

Until the next time, I hope you all have fantastic Summers! Try to re-discover yourself, and learn something new about you!

"school is out and it's a sort of a buzz
a back then I didn't really know what it was
but now I see what have of this
the way that people respond to summer madness
the weather is hot and girls are dressing less
and checking out the fellas to tell 'em who's best"

An amazing May

Been to a NBA playoff game.

Went to Star Wars in Concert.

LOST finale this weekend.

24 hour WDW Radio Podcast coming this weekend.

Adopt a highway next week!

So many things! And throw in a Wizarding World of Harry Potter soft opening/team member preview in the mix too! Can't even comprehend all the things going on this month. And then, it just blends right in to busy season! That's the time of year where I stay as far away from theme parks as I possibly can. And I make enough money as I possibly can. It's a long and slow September! Ill keep you peeps updated!

Hope you're enjoying the random postings!

June 19th is right around the corner. Kind of dropped a hint towards whats going on in this post. Did you see it?

Week in review

Been a week since my last post, lets see if I can remember off hand some highlights from the past 7 days.

Went to my first Orlando Magic home game! It was the huge blowout victory game one against the Atlanta Hawks. The game was a blast! They are on the verge of sweeping the Hawks, but if they don't, I just may be at the Amway for game 5! I can't describe the feeling of following a team, from start to finish, watching every game, and seeing them accomplish amazing things. You almost feel like you're a part of it all with them!

I put up a ton of new videos over on Magic City Mayhems YouTube page. A couple featuring the International Flower and Garden Festival, and a video showing random clips I've shot over the last couple weeks.
Work has been kind of slow, which has allowed me more time to spend on my custom Vinylmations, and drawing and what-not. I think I officially screwed up the Old Hag part of my Wicked Queen from Snow White 3". I may just hit it with "dip" and start all over. The Old Hag, back side of it. Currently, she looks like she has been inspired by the upcoming "Big Eyes" Vinylmation series, and that isn't what I was going for.
I do have a blank 9" staring at me, everyday, pleading, "Please...draw on me". I printed out a couple of templates to sketch some ideas out on. You can find those over at www.VinylmationStation.com Stay tuned for developments in my customs!

I drew a picture of the Orlando Magic Mascot, Stuff the Magic Dragon. I did it with colored
pencils in a sketch book. I used a photo of the real Stuff as a reference. I couldn't find any two dimensional pictures of the green guy. It was definitely challenging drawing him as a cartoon character. I pretty much thought of it as drawing a caricature of the mascot.

I have been tweeting a date via the Magic City Mayhem twitter feed of, June 19th 2010. Well, I am going to announce here what will be happening on this date....in an up coming blog. So, until then...thanks for stopping by and checking in!

Why I do what I do...

Just wanted to try and put up something brief, to sum up the reason why Magic City Mayhem exists. Not where it came from, how it started, or where it's going. Simply, WHY do I make "content"... A few reasons, but not THE reason are:

The whole, "bringing the parks to those who can't be here" thing. I think I mentioned this in my first blog.

There are certain opportunities given to me because of MCM. For example, having press access to store openings and other media events.

I feel like I'm on vacation living here, and I like to brag about it sometimes! So what? You would too!

But the main reason Magic City Mayhem is around is.... I want to entertain.

Granted, most of my videos take place in a theme park. And most of the things I film, are things I had nothing to do with the production of. All I did was film it, edit it together and put it on the internet. But if I can put a video together of paint drying, that captivates you, and makes you watch all the way through, and maybe even a second time...my mission would be accomplished!

I hope to entertain you. I hope you're looking forward to what's next. It's not just about theme parks anymore.

Check us out on Facebook! We have been consistently gaining and losing 1 fan a week for the last month. Suggest us to your friends! Have a great week peeps! Go (Orlando)MAGIC!!!!

Bear left, right frog...

I admit I have been spending a great deal of time and effort in to Vinylmation lately. This has been causing video production to suffer. I have even tried to put the two together...
What do you guys like? What is the balance? I know most of you out there aren't sold on the idea of Vinylmation yet, and don't see the big deal about it. It is also coming to that time of year where I stay way clear out of the parks due to heat, and crowds. Should Magic City Mayhem just close for the summer? No content at all? Lets see what happens...dun duuun duuuuuuuun....

Phil, her?

The Magic advanced to the second round of the NBA playoffs today.

I should be able to start working on the backside(Hag side of my latest 3"custom).Pictured to the left is just the head, before I even started on the body.

I also started working on a new sort of custom 3" today. I say sort of because the design already exists. Its a hard to find, and popular Vinyl from an Urban series. It's ultimately going to be a gift for my sister, so I am going to wait until I'm done with it before I post pics.

I have also made several new videos lately. Ranging from stop motion stuff, to Orlando Magic related, to the AIDS walk we participated in to things in the parks.

Look for more WDW vids coming in the near future. Wednesday is finally the day I am taking someone to the Studios for the first time. Unfortunately, Muppet*Vision will be closed :(

I will try to update more frequently.

Send me ideas for videos!!!

Mikey and the playoffs

I grew up in NYC as most of you know, and I was always a New York Knick fan when it came to basketball. After living in Orlando for over ten years, I felt like it was time for a change.

Last season I watched a game here and there on tv, but once the playoffs came around, I felt like a kid again! I didn't miss a game! Watched every game all the way to their loss in the finals to the Lakers. Lauren and I even went to the Orlando Magic fan appreciation rally downtown. There are several videos of this event posted on Magic City Mayhems YouTube channel.

And then the 09-10 season came along. We wanted to go to so many games! But due to scheduling, and outrageous ticket prices(IMO), we never made it to one. I started to get the idea of trying to win tickets, or "mooch" a season ticket off of someone towards the end of the season. Then, my dream came true. There was a contest at work for two tickets to the last Orlando Magic home game at the Amway Arena ever! The tix would go to the server who sold the most Jumbo Combo appetizers in a 5 day span...I think I worked 2 serving shifts in that time frame. Failed attempt at free Magic tix number 1.

Then, Ryan Anderson, forward for the Magic, had a song contest of sorts. He created a beat, and you came up with lyrics and what not. The winning song would win tickets to every home playoff game this year!!!! I thought I did a pretty good job...But guess what? Failed attempt at free Magic tix number 2.

Lauren and I then participated in an Orlando Magic "text scavenger hunt" through Downtown Orlando. There was running involved, I had to throw plush cows through a basketball hoop, and it was quite hot! I call shenanigans to this day on the last clue that we got hung up on. They were looking for something of a "non-binary color". And the answer was something green. Granted I am a 3 time art school drop out, but I think I know my primary, secondary, binary, and whatever you wanna call them COLORS!!!! Failed attempt at free Magic tix number 3.

The following are pretty much showing how Matt Barnes is taunting me...

If you followed Magic player Matt Barnes on Twitter, and "re-tweeted" one of his messages, you'd win playoff tix AND a signed Barnes Jersey. Failed attempt at free Magic tix number 4.

I worked a day shift, and got out of the building around 5:30pm. Matt Barnes tweeted at aprox 5:35 "...come find me at The Loop for tix!..." The Loop is in Kissimmee, 35 min drive. He was found in 15. Failed attempt at free Magic tix number 5.

Either the next day or the day after that, Mr Matt Barnes Tweeted that he would be at Universal Citywalk, and to find him for tix! I work there. He was there while I was working, GAH!!!!!!!! Failed attempt at free Magic tix number 6.

The Orlando Magic decide to post 10 "runners-up" for the playoff song contest, and fans choose the winner, Failed attempt at free Magic tix number 7.

And finally, the Orlando Magic have been promoting a "one day vacation", where you would go to the game in Charlotte. You have to gather 7 clues, and deliver them to a location tonight. While I am working, Working a shift I have been trying to get rid of for the last 9 days!!!!! Failed attempt at free Magic tix number 8.

Dejected? Yes.

Frustrated? Definitely!

Still a Magic fan? Absolutely!

I watch at home for 100% cheaper then it would be to go to a game. And if we have the game on at work, I am making money while watching. With 14 games left to win the championship, I am sure more opportunities will arise to win tickets. Until then, GO MAGIC! BLUE AND WHITE IGNITE! And maybe I will pay to go to a bunch of games next year when they will have $5 seats in the new Amway Center!

Vinylmation!!!!

People are trying to understand what Vinylmation is. They don't get it. What's the point?

I am totally in to it!

And I single handedly got my mom and sister in to it too. Lauren has been a little harder to persuade, but she'll come around!

Vinylmation are statues that come in 1 1/2 inch, 3inch, and 9inch sizes. You can get them in different ways.

The 9" statues are sold in visible fronted boxes so you know exactly what you are getting. They come in either "pre-designed", or "create your own" or "blank", designs. They usually run about $39.95 weather they are blank or not. Some come with accompanying 3" figures. For example, a 9" Sully and a 3" Boo, or a 9" Winnie the Pooh and a 3" Piglet. Those sets will set you back about $75.00. I found that when I design my own, my favorite platform is the 9", white blank. Like a clean sheet of paper. Ahhhh....

Now when you start to get in to the 3" collecting, that's when it starts to get more fun and interesting. You can get these several different ways.

Tin Set. Single 3" figure in a tin that usually surrounds a holiday or special event. You can probably find a display of this vinyl out on a shelf, so you know what you are getting. These usually go for $14.95.

Series Sets. A series of Vinylmation come in sets of 12. They show you on display what 11 of them are, and then there is one "mystery" chaser. This series range from things such as looking like Muppets, or resembling things found around Disney Parks. You can purchase one by one or a whole tray. They come in trays of 24. They are $9.95 each, or about $235 for the whole tray. You get two of each, and one chaser. That leaves one left over doesn't it?

When you buy them individually, you have no idea which one you are purchasing. They come in small boxes, then inside the box, the figure itself is sealed in a cellophane bag. Since they all feel the same, you never know just by feeling them what is in the bag. There is a pattern to the box, so if you get a whole tray, there is a chance you can open the whole set without opening any doubles!

If you do get them individually, and you happen to get a figure that you already have...NO FEAR! You can trade your Vinylmations! There are people in the same boat as you. They were hoping to get that one special figure, only to have two of the same. There are websites and forum set up specifically for this. There will also be places set up around the parks in the future(rumor has it).

I will go more in depth on customizing your own Vinyls in an up coming post. This was just somewhat of an introduction which I am sure I left tons out of. If you have any questions though, please post in the comments, or send me an email. Hope you are having an awesome weekend!

What exactly are we?

I was so happy to hear Magic City Mayhem mentioned by some of the panel on the BetaMouse podcast as their fave, and must listen to/watch podcasts! A great feeling of acheivement, and a sense of "making it" rushed over my entire body. Then as quickly as that orgasmic feeling flooded my being, it was wisped away just as fast. I thought to myself, "Is MCM a podcast?".

Sure we have content on iTunes, but more often than not, the same content is available on Youtube or Facebook. I just wanted the portability luxury to be available to those who wanted to watch our stuff on the go. Other than our "On Location" and "On Vacation" series, there has never been a true definite schedule as to when we release our videos.

So then the question remains. If not podcasters/vidcasters, what then?

I know one thing is for sure. The main reason MCM exists, is to bring Central Florida to those who can't be here to experience it first hand. Do I want to go to park openings, and be the first on new attractions, etc.. of course! Who doesn't? But mainly, it's for all those folks who come once a month, year, decade, who have no other way of getting a piece of the magic. I'd like to think I can bring it to them. For dirt cheap too! I hope to one day be recognized as some sort of ambassador of the city of Orlando. I truly am proud to live here!

Back to the other topic...

Don't get me wrong. There is nothing wrong with being categorized as a podcaster. I just think of all the popular podcasts out there, and their structures, and formats. Then think of what we do, and they are nothing a like! I am happy to be included in the community, and look forward to working with any and everyone out there(at least once)

Online magazine? Orlando videography team? I am curious to hear what you think. Please leave your thoughts in the comments below.

This may have come off as random, but that's what a blog is all about isn't it? Going to try to keep this up daily, or tri-weekly. Have a great Friday Magic City Maniacs!

Bringing a noob to the park.

My first post in forever! I know...well, here's the skinny...

Sometime in the near future, I should be venturing in to the Disney's Hollywood Studios(DHS), with someone who has never been before. You remember when you went to a park for the first time? My most recent would be this past September when Lauren and I visited Disneyland. But this isn't about that. It's about bringing my friend, DJ Dlux, the "noob" to DHS for the first time. He is a local to Orlando, and has lived here all of his life. And, ironically enough, has yet to step foot in to the third out of four Disney Parks.
Do you think I should drag him there for park open? Be outside the front gate at 8:30am? Be the firsts at the actual "rope" for rope drop, and walk very very fast towards Toy Story Midway Mania(TSMM) for fastpasses? Only to wait 20 mins for a fastpass, and then wait 30 mins to ride without using said fastpass and then ride again when it is time to use the fastpass???
How about dragging him through the entire queues for Muppetvision 3D and Star Tours even if the wait for the attraction doesnt recquire us using the extended queues?
We are definitely going to need sun screen because we are watching a serious amount of Citizens of Hollywood(COH). With Francis Floots' final days looming, Magic City Mayhem needs more footage anyway.
Seeing as how this will be his first and probably only time in awhile, we may skip things like, The Little Mermaid, and Beauty and the Beast. But if it was a toss up between Indiana Jones and Lights Motors Action, which would you choose?
We will also more than likely miss out on Fantasmic, and the American Idol Experience Finale show, and opt for the Rockin' Roller Coaster, Tower of Terror(TOT) combo to cap off the day. I'd say about 3 or 4 rides on the TOT should do just fine!
Sprinkle in a Great Movie Ride, drawing class, and a stop(or three) at the Tune-In Lounge, and I think we got ourselves a day to remember!
Look for the video of DJ Dlux's first time at the DHS coming to YouTube soon!
