What is it exactly that you do here?

I've been struggling with writing this entry for the better part of two weeks now. In my head, I had a clever way of "breaking it all down". Explaining how I've always needed some sort of creative outlet. But every time I type a paragraph and read it back to myself, I delete it thinking I'm trying to make it sound more complicated than it is.
  • I'm an artist. I draw and paint. I often times pull my inspiration from satirical theme park situations, or mash up characters you wouldn't expect to see together. I graduated high school with an endorsement in commercial art. And while in college(back in the late 90's), I learned the foundations of basic computer animation, Adobe Photoshop, and basic web design.
  • For more than 8 years, I've been using video as a form of creative expression. Filming and editing my own footage. My subjects have ranged from music videos, short subjects, weddings, and the obvious theme park happenings. This is where the actual name "Magic City Mayhem" comes from. It's the name I came up with for a YouTube channel with all my theme park videos. "Is Magic City Mayhem just you? Is that your nick name?" No. My sister Jenn and wife Lauren contribute all the time with taking photos and assisting in shooting video. I'm really looking forward to the day when my son starts filming his own videos in the parks!
  • In the last two years, I've started to take a real interest in photography. And I mean, who doesn't "enjoy" taking photos? But I always try to take an "interesting" picture as opposed to just snapping a shot of something. I primarily use my iPhone for this, but I'm starting to consider investing in a real camera. There's a good chance on any given day, especially if you're reading this, that you see at least 2-3 photos posted from me a day. All from various different Instagrams, Facebooks, and Twitter accounts.

So, "what is it exactly that you do here?"

Little of this. Little of that. Creating and hopefully inspiring.

And now that I've finally published this, I can move on to new entries.
